Teenage is the time where a characteristic of an individual is being developed. This is the part where we feel like our emotions are being mixed and we become confused. But this is an important stage of everyone’s life and that is why we need to have someone to guide us. One of the solutions for this problem is to open up about our feelings to others and parents can be the place for young adult like us to share what we have gone through.
Parents are the closest people that we have. They have been with us since we were born and watched their kids growing up. There is no doubt that parents know the most about their children, such as our likes and dislikes, habits, and other small things. Therefore, they could help us in a way that will suit ourselves. They will certainly support us since we are a part of their responsibility.
As an adult themselves, parents are surely have experienced what we are going through. So, they might have some suggestions that can solve our issues. However, the age difference between a child and the parents is the problem. What they had gone through in their youth might not be the same as what teens these days are facing. This could be the reason why many young adults prefer not to talk with their father neither their mother and choose to share with other peers who are the same age instead.
Overall, opening up about our emotions to our parents would not be a destructive idea. This is actually very helpful and it brings a tighter bond between parents and children. Although there are some drawbacks that make teenagers do not interested in telling their problems with adults, but as long as they don’t keep it to themselves and still share it with others, it would not be a problem.
